We decided to adopt, but after some research decided not to pursue an adoption in the United States because of the risk that the birth mother would change her mind. We chose to adopt through Heartsent Adoptions in Orinda, and soon Nancy and I were united with a 4-month-old baby girl from Guatemala, our daughter Rose Marie Sumner Crowe. She is a 9-year-old big girl now, and we all spend as much time as we can sailing, fishing, and playing board games. More than anything, we simply enjoy one another's presence and being a family.
